Music Monday: Wonder and R&B

We’re a little deeper into the 2016 and I’m still writing down 2015. Thank goodness I’m not in school anymore because there would be so many wrote things after “date:” Alas, I’m a grown up now (kind of) and with that, me and the other adults can do whatever we want, like write the wrong date, vote and head out to a ton of great shows that are happening this week. It’s heavy in R&B, but we are not complaining one bit!

Oh Wonder at El Rey on 1/1314

This duo started making some heavy noise last year and after some sold out shows at Troubadour, they knew they had to move onto a bigger place this time around. With that, they’ll be playing a couple of dates at the El Rey. Next time, possibly Staples?

Van Morrison at Shrine Auditorium on 1/15-16

This six-time Grammy winner is gracing LA with his presence and he’s doing so at one of the most extravagant places in the city. Don’t miss out on this one.

R&B Rewind Fest with Ginuwine, Next, Guy, Bobby Brown and 112 at Microsoft Theater on 1/16

Love the ‘90s? Love R&B from the ‘90s? You’re in luck because some of the best are coming together for a night of sexy, soul wonder in Downtown.

Brian McKnight at Saban Theatre on 1/17

Wait a minute…this is your lucky day if you’d like to get your R&B on once more.

Lupe Fiasco at The Fonda on 1/18

He kicked and pushed a few years ago and now the rapper is back and better than ever.
