Music Monday: Heading Into April

Another month down, and as we say adios to March – we’re saying hello to April, as well as a ton of shows. Spring and summer mean more and more people coming to LA to showcase what they’re made of and this week we have some new kids on the block as well as some veterans.

Andra Day at El Rey on 3/30

Coming up through the San Diego scene, she went from the halls of the School of Creative and Performing Arts to the Grammy stage this year when she performed alongside Ellie Goulding where she was nominated for a couple of awards that night.

Set It Off at The Roxy on 4/1

Having owned on Warped Tour and opening for everyone from We Are The In Crowd to Yellowcard, and they’re coming through on their own on their own.

Wilson Phillips at The Rose on 4/2

It doesn’t matter when it comes on, you cannot help but sing along to this group of sister’s “Hold On.” We’re sure they have a ton of other songs, but that’s the signature and we’re even more sure they will do it at this show!

Adam Lambert at Orpheum on 4/2-3

He may not have won season eight of American Idol, but it felt like it. He was unlike any artist that had ever walked onto that stage before as he brought a grand sense of dramatics to every performance and that’s likely why he’s been able to maintain that Idol steam all these years later.

Elvis Costello at The Theatre at Ace Hotel on 4/2-3

There’s not much that can be said about this living legend, so we’ll just say this is the cannot-miss show of the week; hands down.
