Music Monday: Festivals are Among Us!

Summer is the best time for festivals and this week SoCal has two going on. On top of that we’ve got a few shows that range from pop rock to indie to feel good pop, make sure to head out to as many as you can!

The Mowgli’s at Troubadour on 6/8

One of the best finds thanks to blogging. This band has been in my life for some time now and has since grown to be one of the champs of the indie scene.

Corinne Bailey Rae at Lyric Theatre on 6/9

Light, fun and perfect for the summer weather – this woman is continuously a breath of fresh air in the music realm.

The Matches at Teragram Ballroom on 6/10-11

Bands from the Warped scene started to notice how much they could bank off of doing 10-year anniversary shows of their most beloved albums and The Matches are living it up thanks to nostalgic adoration. They played the Troubadour with their first and are stepping it up in size for their second.

What other festival in the world asks only for a $5 donation to enjoy a plethora of music all day? Uh, none. So that’s why you should give a little and get a lot of of this great experience this weekend.

Playboy Jazz Festival at Hollywood Bowl on 6/11-12

From the biggest names in mainstream to the most renowned in the genre of jazz, they’re all coming together for two days of the music that takes the cake in cool.
