Whether people want to admit it or not, finding someone to love is high on their list of necessities in life.
Who doesn’t want someone by their side that is both a best friend and a loving partner? You lying if you said you don’t. So now that we’re all being honest, let’s talk about Selfoss’ latest single, “Sniper.” A whole world away from what I thought it’d sound like. A song void of rapid fire, any sort of quick thoughts – it was more like a dreamscape set in motion by waves of sound laced together over the idea of love.
Out of all the lines, “I loved you then. I love you now,” was the one that stood out most because while simple in the grand scheme of things, it carried a lot of weight. That is if you’ve ever loved. You know what it’s like to fall in love and when you do, it’s hard to stand up and away from that feeling. While some love doesn’t last, a lot of the times it’s difficult to let go of it. This song captures a part of that notion with these endearing eight words.
Toronto based, Selfoss’ “Sniper” can be found on their EP Time and Time Again. No dates right now on the books, but with new music out and about – it’s likely they’ll be adding shows to their calendar sooner than later. At least some local shows to get the juices flowing. So you’ll just have to stay tuned for what’s to come from Selfoss!
