Music Monday: From the Beach to the Hill

There weren’t too many shows going on this week in Southern California to write home about. Is everyone taking a break? Luckily though there were a handful to share. First up, singer-songwriter Matt Costa will be at Hollywood Forever on the 15th. Fans of Jack Johnson are urged to attend. Really though, I saw him open for Johnson back in 2005 – so great. Hopefully “Astair” is still on the setlist. A couple nights later one of the most entertaining bands, Gogol Bordello, will be down in Santa Ana at The Observatory. Another two nights later and you can see the legends that are The Beach Boys up in Thousand Oaks. A nice area that many sleep on but the Fred Kavli Theatre has a lot of great stuff going on year-round. Then something on the complete opposite side of the spectrum the next night at The Novo in Downtown LA…Sisqo. Yes, the man who brought to life the ” Thong Song” will be performing not only solo, but alongside Dru Hill as well. Then, last but not least – Radkey will be at Resident on November 21. A band of brothers who aren’t even old enough to vote, they continue to get rave reviews and much accolades from fans and critics alike.
