When it comes to the South Bay, you don’t have too many options when it comes to venues. At least that’s been the case for a girl who spent more time during college going to shows than class.
With a lack of venues readily known, the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center known to me as the Long Beach Arena was always there for us when it came to larger events. Taste of Chaos was perfection there as were shows from Korn and Panic! at the Disco.
An arena that can pack in over 13,000 people in their seats and on the floor – hearing that many people sing along to a song is immaculate. However, concerts aren’t the only thing this place puts on. In the coming months they’ll have an array of conventions, pageants and holiday celebrations.

A Favorite Long Beach Memory
While Taste of Chaos was always fun when it was indoors, one of my favorite shows down at the arena in Long Beach was Panic! at the Disco. It was memorable for a multitude of reasons. First and foremost this was back when I was about a decade younger and could stand to sit outside in line all day. So you had the entertainment of that; board games, the journey of finding a public bathroom, and of course the middle school kids adorned in their best Ryan Ross makeup. It was also the show me and my bestie met some of our favorite friends in line right before. Of course there was the show as well. Panic was at their best. They were still touring off their debut and the entire performance was like a circus; amazing.
