You’re going to want to make sure to call your mother after watching Golden Daze’s latest video for “Ghost.” An homage to their own, this LA-based songwriting duo took a natural love sons have for their mothers and paired it with a ’60s inspired sound that any mama alive during that time would truly appreciate. Not to say this is just a song for the moms out there, oh no. Anyone of any age who has a love for that simpler, melancholic pop sound will love what they hear from Golden Daze.
The lead track off their self-titled debut that dropped back in February, “Ghost” creates a cloud of sound for listeners to float on from start to finish. It’s simplistic yet touching ways are comforting in the end. And those who want a taste live can catch them on tour now through December 17. They’ll be in Philadelphia tonight at Union Transfer, and then from there they’ll head up to New York before taking a trip south and then ending with a double-dose in Chicago at Thalia Hall and Metro.
